JAMMU, Sept 26: National State Govt Employees Federation (NSGEF) has resolved to observe demands week ( Maang Saptah) and project their demands before the Government.
In the meeting of the Federation held here today under the chairmanship of Subash Verma, State general secretary, it was disclosed that as decided in the national executive meet of the Federation held at Chandigarh recently, the demands week would be observed all over the country. The J&K State unit would also join them in the campaign.
As a part of programme, the State unit of the Federation has submitted a charter of demands to the Prime Minister of India. It has been demanded that 50 % of the DA should be merged with the basic pay of the employees, 7th Pay Commission be implemented in toto in all the states in one go, uniformity should be there in service rules, minimum wages of the low paid employees be fixed as Rs 42,000 per month, old pension scheme be restored, income tax limit be increased to Rs 5 lakh per annum, all daily rated/ contractual employees be regularized, GPF interest rate be increased up to 12 % and private contract system be abolished.
