JAMMU, May 26: National Secular Forum (NSF) urged the Chief Minister to fulfill the vacant posts of Assistant Librarians in the Government Colleges.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Vikas Sharma, president, NSF has warned Public Service Commission (PSC) for ignoring Asstt Librarians posts as more than 100 posts are lying vacant in all the Government Degree Colleges in the State for the last 15 years.
Dr Vikas Sharma said that JKPSC and Department of Higher Education are ignoring College Libraries since long.
Only few Government Colleges in the State are having qualified staff for Library services to aid study and research, he alleged.
Libraries are the key factors behind the success of the students in education and other competitive examinations, but in J&K no developments were made in this important sector of Higher Education, Dr Sharma alleged.
Among others present were Sukhdev Singh, Ravi Choudhary, Akshey Sharma and Reshikesh Rana.
