JAMMU, Nov 17: National Secular Forum (NSF) today paid tribute to Saheed Lala Lajpat Rai on his 96th death anniversary.
In this connection, a programme was organized at Jammu University Campus, wherein NSF activists garlanded a portrait of Lala Lajpat Rai and paid him rich tribute.
On the occasion, Ankush Abrol, Provincial Joint Secretary, JKNC was the chief guest while Dr Vikas Sharma, Secretary Central Zone and Coordinator Jammu district, JKNC, presided over the function. T R Sharma (Retd JKAS), was the guest of honour and Vikshay Vashist, State Secretary NSF was the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Ankush Abrol appreciated the efforts of NSF members for remembering Lala Lajpat Rai who fought against British rule in India.
Dr Vikas Sharma threw light on the life and supreme sacrifices of Lala Lajpat Rai and said that the real tribute to the great leader would be eradicating evils prevailing in the society like drug addiction.
Roshan Sharma, Mohd Umar Farooq, Abhishek Uppal, Gourav Singh, Aditya Kargotra, Muneeb Ul Islam and others also spoke on the occasion.
