JAMMU, May 23: National Secular Forum has requested the Governor N N Vohra, who is the Chancellor of Jammu University, to hold an inquiry against Director of The Business School and Dean Placement for promoting favouritism and nepotism in the campus placement.
Addressing a press conference, here today, NSF vice-president Sukhdev Singh said that Dean Placement and Director business School Jammu University organized a placement drive on the campus on an Off Day of the university ignoring all the students hailing from the off site campuses.
He alleged that the placement drive was manipulated jointly by Director The Business School and Dean Placement Jammu University in such a way that it could provide benefit and opportunity only to few of their blue eyed. “Corruption may be involved in the malafide intention of giving benefit to some selected ones and hence a high level inquiry is needed in the case,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that each student enrolled in the MBA departments of off side university campuses has deposited a placement fee of Rs 2000 for these kind of placement opportunities within the campus but if Dean Placement and Director MBA did not circulate the information regarding placement drive among students.
The NSF leader also condemned the MBA Department for allegedly discouraging the students for admission in off site campuses of their choice. “The partial behaviour of the director is also revealed in the course management of MBA-IB which is also a part of MBA programme but its students are not being involved in any course work or any workshop,” Sukhdev Singh alleged.
