NSF alleges delay in declaration of JU results

JAMMU, Mar 20: Jammu University is allegedly not adhering to the deadline set for declaration of PG Examination results, which are being delayed for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities.
Addressing the press-conference here today, NSF vice-president Narinder Singh produced data in support of his allegations and listed examples quoting a reply, submitted by the Jammu University ion response to an RTI application.
“Exams of PG in the subject of Math 4th semester, Information Technology 2nd semester, Economic 2nd semester and Chemistry 2nd semester were held in May 2015 but the results of these mentioned subjects were declared on March 1, 2016, 29th February, 7th of January and 7th January 2016, respectively,” he said.
Further, he added, Controller Wing of JU took 226 days to declare 2nd Semesters result of 50 students of MSc Chemistry, 141 days to declare the 4th Semesters result of 46 students of MSc Chemistry, 196 days to declare 2nd Semesters result of a 55 candidate of MBA, 100 days to declare 4th Semesters result of 48 candidate of MBA, 117 days to declare 4th Semesters result of 31 candidate of Botany, 177 days to declare the 2nd Semesters result of a 58 candidate of Education, 196 days to declare the 4th Semesters result of a 51 candidate of Education, 158 days to declare the 4th Semesters result of 56 candidate of M Com, and worst is the case where University took 140 days to declare the result of 2nd Semesters 09 students of M A Punjabi.
The NSF leader urged the Chancellor to take cognizance of the slackness on the part of university to improve the efficiency in Evaluation and constant suffering of the students.
