JAMMU, Sept 12: Resenting the Police decision  of extending  running track for recruitment  of Sub-Inspectors in Jammu district, the National Panthers  Students Union has threatened to gherao Director General  of Police.
While addressing a press conference, here today, the NPSU president Virender  Singh alleged a conspiracy against Jammu youth by  extending running track for PET in recruitment for the posts of Sub Inspector. “Why all of sudden a  decision has been  taken to extend the running track thus making the selection process more difficult for  youth of Jammu, who are already facing unemployment?” he asked.
While elaborating, the NPSU leader said that  for whole of Jammu and Kashmir,  the running track (PET) is 1600 mtr and the time for covering the distance is 6.30 minutes. “But astonishingly one day prior to the recruitment in  Jammu district,  the administration extended the running track to  more than 1600 mtr with the same stipulated time  and this decision is going to make situation difficult for the youth of Jammu to qualify Physical Endurance Test (PET),” he explained.
Maintaining  that NPSU would not allow this discrimination with Jammu youth, Singh warned to gherao DGP if the J&K Police does not make necessary rectification in the selection procedure. He also urged all the political and non political organization of Jammu to join hands and fight against the discriminatory behavior of JKP Police towards Jammu youth.
Others,  who were present in press conference, included  Lovely Singh, Rishi Badyal, Chetan Sharma, Advesh Shamra and  Sushant Singh Chib.
