UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: Reiterating the demand of high level probe into recent Constituency Development Fund scam, former MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia demanded that corrupt officers and workers who indulged in this loot and plunder of CDF should be arrested.
While leading a massive protest in front of DC office Udhampur, NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia revealed that in recent RTI reply it is clearly mentioned that Rs 7.34 crore Constituency Development Fund remained un-utilised up to June 18, 2018 which shows the failure of Ex- MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta and now that amount has been lapsed. He said that Gupta proved as most failed MLA, who turned failure to spend his CDF for the welfare of the people. Click here to watch video
Mankotia alleged that ex-MLA Gupta has distributed CDF illegally to his workers which is totally against the norms and some officers also indulged in this CDF loot and plunder. He demanded immediate arrest of corrupt officers and workers.
Expressing deep anguish over ill- planning of ex-MLA Gupta towards development, Mankotia said that when villagers demanded electricity poles or water pipes or any other basic requirement, Pawan Gupta always told them that he has no CDF remaining and refused to provide any material or equipment for development instead of having funds but now RTI reply exposed him completely. Mankotia termed his four years tenure as “darkest phase” in the history of Udhampur.
Lambasting Pawan Gupta for his complete failure, Mankotia questioned him over CDF loot and his long developmental promises during elections campaign also blamed that the amount which has been sanctioned for the development of Udhampur was allowed to lapse due to the failure of Ex-MLA.
Mankotia warned strong agitation if strict action was not taken against corrupt officers and workers.
