JAMMU, Dec 16: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party met leaders of several regional parties in the past week and interacted with the regional leadership to form an alternative at the regional and national levels to provide desired alternative to the ruling parties in the States and in the Centre.
In his reminder to the regional leadership, Prof. Singh said that wherever, regional leadership provided alternative to the Congress and BJP, they succeeded in overthrowing the two foremost political parties anywhere in the country.
Prof. Bhim Singh said that Congress was washed out in the South by regional political parties where the Congress has lost its roots. Revival of the Congress in Karnataka and in Andhra was only because of the division in the regional leadership which became interested in power than in the people. He said that regional parties have taken the command in the North-East, in Punjab. Delhi, he said was the latest example of the reaction of a common man who is totally fed up with the main national political parties.
He further stated that victory of Bharatiya Janata Party in some States was due to the fact that the people did not relish Congress anymore. They were looking for a change and there was no leadership which came to the forefront e.g. Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan & Chhatisgarh.
Prof. Singh said that the BJP shall meet the same fate which the Congress has met the day the regional political leadership shall emerge in the BJP ruled States. The people in the States had no third alternative.
He said that in J&K National Conference and Congress have been ruling the state ruthlessly and with authoritarian whip for the past six decades. The people got an opportunity in 2002 when National Conference came as number two in the Valley. So far as Jammu Pradesh is concerned the people here got a chance in 1953 to defeat National Conference but the elections were rigged. The BJP and the Congress have been playing hide and seek with the people of Jammu Pradesh denying them even its basic right of delimitation of Assembly Constituencies, right of development, tourism, employment etc.
J&K National Panthers Party emerged in 1982 and has shown its consistency, commitment, secular ethos and strength to protect its composite culture. This is the only alternative in Jammu Pradesh to the Congress and BJP hegemony.
Prof. Bhim Singh appealed to the people of Jammu Pradesh to support the Panthers Party and its commitment for the reorganization of J&K so that the people of all the three regions shall get justice and equity.
