JAMMU, Feb 23: NPP MLA from Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia today staged a walk-out in the Assembly over denial of Medical College to Udhampur.
Raising the issue during Question Hour, Mr Mankotia, who had earlier also raised the issue, trooped into middle of the House saying under initial proposal of the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare, the Medical College had been approved for Udhampur but it was given to another district.
Speaker Mubarak Gul said the Assembly has already passed a resolution seeking more Medical Colleges for various districts. He asked Mr Mankotia to take his seat and speak during Zero Hour.
However, Mr Mankotia staged a walk-out in the House to press for his demand for Medical College for Udhampur.
