JAMMU, June 16:  Launching scathing attack on the Public Service Commission for brazenly indulging in large scale bungling, corruption, nepotism and regional prejudice in selections to Government services besides follies of wrong doings in conducting examinations for various gazetted posts, activists of  J&K National Panthers Party (NPP) and Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) along with aggrieved aspirants held protest demonstrations here today.
The agitated protestors led by NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh assembled outside Public Service Commission office here torched the effigy of the Commission.
Rebuking the State PSC gross irregularities in recent KAS preliminary exams,  Harsh Dev Singh said that it had come to fore that 24 questions/ answers were wrongly marked in its official key pertaining to Political Science, Zoology and General Studies.
While deploring the incident, he said that it was for the first time in the history that JKPSC had put the results of the above said exams in abeyance which had shockingly led to the withdrawal of notification for Main exam, thus putting the career of many aspirants in jeopardy.
Doubting the credibility of the experts empanelled by the PSC for setting the question papers and the respective answer keys fraught with errors, he demanded immediate black listing of the experts besides probe into the episode which had maligned the acceptability and trustworthiness of the recruiting agency.
Expressing serious concern on the credibility of the Public Service Commission (PSC), Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) has urged the State Government to constitute an independent Judicial Commission to probe the committing of repeated errors and discrepancies allegedly to satisfy the interests of vested bigwigs and power lobby.
While addressing the agitating members at a protest demonstration organized by the JPPF, president Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj said that since quite some time there has been hue and cry amongst the educated youth in Jammu complaining injustice and discrimination on the basis of region and religion and they are being cornered in every selection list declared by the Public Service Commission with a nominal representation whether it is the selection list of lecturers in any stream or selection in other department is concerned.
The recent news of Govt asking the Chairman Public Service Commission to disclose official answer keys of recently declared results of KAS Preliminary Examination 2016 is an eye opener as the youth including public as a whole has lost faith in the credibility of the  Commission which is said to be an autonomous body away from the clutches of politics and power, he said adding that this proves the genuineness of complaint of Jammu youth crying foul.
While demanding transparency and accountability, Bhardwaj pleaded for disbanding the present PSC and constitution of fresh recruitment process after distribution of vacancies division wise.
While demanding a judicial probe in the bungling conducted in the PSC, Pavittar asked the Coalition Government to do justice with Jammu and constitute separate PSC for Jammu  youth whose number in the recent past has increased manifold.
