JAMMU, Jan 16: Expressing dismay over the delay in enquiry ordered by the Director, Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir, against the alleged wrong doings of Ex-Officer, MC Gulmarg, National Panthers Party (NPP) sought Governor’s immediate intervention into the matter.
Chetan Sharma, senior NPP leader while addressing the media here today said that ‘Gulmarg Bachav Committee’, an NGO of Kashmir had filed a complaint to the Ex- Minister, Housing and Urban Development Department, J&K, pertaining to the land scandals and fake appointments made by the then Executive officer of MC Gulmarg, Gulam Rasool Shah, who was currently posted at MC Sopore.
He revealed that on the receipt of persistent complaints from Gulmarg Bachav Committee and the inhabitants of Budgam town, the Director Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir constituted a three-member committee in the month of August last year to initiate the enquiry into the allegations of illegal appointments made in MC Tangmarg/Gulmarg and Kunzer and building permissions issued in MC Budgam and MC Tangmarg. He regretted that more than six months had passed but the enquiry committee failed to consider the case.
Sharma urged the Governor to intervene into the matter and sought initiation of pending enquiry against the erring officer within two weeks.
