JAMMU, Aug 3: Chairman, Jammu Central Cooperative Bank (JCCB), Anuradha Gupta, today said that the Bank has been able to recover chronic NPAs worth more than Rs 80 lakh within a period of two months. However, she cautioned that more efforts are required to be done to bring the bank back on rails.
She was speaking during a meeting of the Board of Administrators of JCCB held today with the branch Managers of the bank in the conference hall of Sehkari Bhawan, Jammu. The chairperson, while interacting with the officers, observed that the efforts of intensive recovery drive initiated by the present Board, have starting showing results.
The Board members exhorted upon the branch managers to make best efforts for recovering chronic NPAs and to be careful in making advances which should be completely as per the guidelines issued by State Govt/ RBI/NABARD, from time to time.
The officers were informed that the training wing of the Bank has been revamped as the Human Resource Centre and shall soon be formally inaugurated. “A website of the bank has also been created which, too, shall be launched soon. The Board is also in the process of introducing reformative measures in banking as prescribed by the RBI/NABARD”, the meeting was informed.
The members said Board is also focussing on updation of electoral roll for the conduct of elections in a fair and transparent manner. They said that for updation of electoral roll all Deputy Commissioners have been requested to provide support through officers of the departments of Agriculture and Cooperatives with whom the bank can coordinate and reconcile the accounts of PACS and other Societies so that their eligibility status can be updated.
The Board asked the branch Managers to actively participate in the process of reconciliation of accounts and updation of electoral roll so that the elections can be held as early as possible and in a very fair and transparent manner.
