“She is not always perfect, but has a capability to celebrate the beautiful flaws and the perfect imperfections. Let’s celebrate for, we are proud women, Let’s celebrate this minute, this day, today and everyday as Women’s Day.”
Women are leaders everywhere. You look from the CEO who runs a Fortune 500 company to the housewife who raises her children, and heads her household and they will continue to break down the walls and defy stereotypes.
I don’t deny that the effects of the past like some set norms and rigid notions about the women are still with us, but I refuse to fortify them by repeating them. Bygone the times, when women were considered as just a puppet, putting their toil day and night for the family as well as society. But now they have done with stereotypes. It is now women’s era. She is the only one who knows best for her, she can act upon herself and she is no more a victim at the hands of the jerks. May be with this limited stock of words, we won’t be able to change the scenario instantly, but we should not forget that with the changes in parts, there comes revolution. The day when women will take up their stand, no power in the Universe will be able to even shake their stagnant position.
Women are the only soul creatures on this planet, who are bestowed with patience, tolerance, compactness and intellect. They themselves don’t know what they are worthy of. But, only due to change in gender, they face biasness whole of their life. And some people even today believe that, this biasness may be the outcome of the very foolish act done by the Eve by having that apple and also by compelling her mate to do the same, is what women are even facing today. And according o this legendary myth, from that day to even today, such heavy tags have been loaded upon women by the stereotypes. But, now it’s time to shun those tags and be the lady of yourself. Because ‘if you want to live the world, if you want to love the world, for that first of all you have to love yourself and you have to live yourself.’
One of the pretty famous feminist writer’s work ‘The Laugh of Medusa’, beautifully portrayed the positive as well as negative attributes of women. Ancient writers have presented Medusa as a classical monster figure with her repulsive looks, having snakes instead of hairs on her head. The image as well as laugh of Medusa is very symbolic. Her laugh is both lively as well as destructive. If she laugh out of happiness, she can conquer the whole world and if she laugh out of anger, she can even ruin the whole world. It’s more or less exactly like our Hindu goddess images. The deity is one, but at the time of the crises, she can be calm and soothing like ‘Maa Saraswati’ and can be horrible and devastating like ‘Maa Kaali’. In short, she is the manifestation of good as well as evil.
Women are just like an overflowing and boundariless oceans. The much they know about themselves, nobody can reach that particular level.
According to Helene Cixous,” The manner in which women can present themselves, a male writer can never do so. So, the writings of the male writers can’t be taken seriously.”
If we talk about today, no arena has remained untouched by the miracles of the women. We have best examples in front of us. Oprah Winfrey- rising from poverty to become the Ist African American woman billionaire, Hillary Clinton, Aung San Sui Kyi, J.K. Rowling – British author known for Harry Potter series and the only writer to become billionaire by her writings, Tessy Thomas- the missile woman of India who headed the Agni 1V and Agni V mission, Minal Sampath, worked 18 hours a day for the Mars Orbital Mission, Anuradha TK, the senior most woman officer at ISRO, Sakshi Malik, P.V. Sindhu, Bhakti Sharma, Arunima Sinha, Rashmi Bansal, Tania Sachdev, Malala and lots more.
A beautiful quote said by Malala, “Extremists have shown what frightens them the most, a girl with a book.”
So, from this point of view, education is the secret successful weapon in the hands of the women. Women are the real architect of the society. Today, it is her epoch. She is everywhere. She can manage professionally, personally as well as socially. It is the only woman who acts as ladder for a man to meet the success. Without her support, he is nothing. It is also true that because of her awareness and liveliness, men have lost their freedom to some extent. They know that they can’t take them for granted now. And to raise questions on man is getting against their ego. Why women are always taught to cooperate and compromise and what about if stereotypes take advantage of their mum and genuineness. But, this won’t be acceptable now.
Margaret Thatcher has realistically marked, “If you want something said ask a man, but if you want something done, ask a woman.” Now, it’s a peak time, to make women realise their worth, so that when the moment of their liberation come, it will allow her to carry out the indispensible ruptures and transformations in her history. She must raise her voice against the patriarchal cracks and come out as a whole woman.
“A woman either, has to live her life, or live repenting for not having lived it.”
Do your best, live for yourself also, don’t let your grandeur fall, be independent, be liberal, make strong decision, don’t let society to rule you, don’t let anyone to take you for granted, be right in your norms and actions, last but not the least be the staunch follower of feminism., which is never meant to fall the dignity of man or woman, but always support the equal treatment to the both.
