Notorious vehicle lifter arrested with 4 stolen motorcycles

JAMMU, May 25: Police arrested a notorious vehicle lifter and recovered 4 stolen motorcycles from his possession.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Jammu Suram Singh while interacting with media persons here today.
Divulging the details, SP informed that on May 16 this year, a case under FIR Number 118/2020 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana wherein motorcycle bearing registration number JKO2AT/2860 was reported stolen from Govind Nagar area of Gole Gujral District Jammu.
“During the investigation, the Investigation Officer made all concerned efforts for identifying the thieves and some suspected were rounded up for questioning. Finally, the police succeeded to identify the real thief namely Bashir Ahmad, son of Mirza Khan of SOS Camp Gole Gujral on May 18, 2020”, SP said.
He informed that a team from Police Post Pouni Chak laid a naka near SOS Gole Gujral and succeeded to nab the thief Bashir Ahmad, adding that during the course of investigation/interrogation, the accused confessed his involvement in the commission of crime.
“Four stolen motorcycles were recovered on the disclosure of the accused”, SP said, adding that further investigation into the case is going on, SP asserted.
Police team led by SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh and assisted by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Jaswant Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
