Notorious vehicle lifter arrested, stolen motorcycle recovered

REASI, Apr 14: Police has arrested a 19-year old notorious vehicle lifter from Khawas area of Rajouri and recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession.
According to Police, the arrested accused, namely Mohd Mukeem, son of Jameel Ahmed of Keri Khawas, Rajouri, is a notorious and habitual offender against whom four FIRs of theft are registered in district Reasi and Rajouri. He is being put to sustained questioning to crack the gang of thieves and effect more recoveries.
Mukeem was habitual of stealing while he was even minor and in all the previous FIRs, he was bailed out and sent to ‘Juvenile Reforms’ home at R S Pura Jammu. However, each time he returned back to his chosen trade of stealing.
The recovered motorcycle (JK20B-2593), owned by Krishan Singh , son of Tej Ram of Bhaga, was parked in Upper Talwara from where it was stolen during the intervening night of April 4-5, 2021.
A formal complaint in this regard was lodged at Police Post Talwara. During investigation, Police got a clue that stolen motorcycle was seen in Khawas area of District Rajouri. Acting on this information, Police team left for Khawas area and recovered the stolen motorcycle besides arresting the thief.
