Notorious thief arrested

UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: Police arrested a notorious thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Vinay Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, a resident of Barrian with Police Station Udhampur stating that some unknown person(s) entered into his shop at Shiv Nagar during the intervening night of August 3 and 4 and decamped with cash and cigarette packets.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 394/18 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police picked up several suspects and finally nabbed the thief.
The accused has been identified as Kuldeep Kumar, son of Dharam Chand, a resident of District Udhampur. On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen items.
Further investigation of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary and assisted by SI Bhopesh Singh made the arrest under the supervision of DySP DAR Himmat Singh and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
