JAMMU, Dec 8: Janipur Police arrested a notorious snatcher and recovered gold ornaments from his possession.
As per police sources, on December 4 this year, a lady namely Veena Devi, wife of Vijay Kumar of Krishna Vihar lodged a complaint with Police Station Janipur stating that one unknown snatcher on motorcycle restrained her way and snatched her ear ring .
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 125/2021 under Sections 341 and 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali and assisted by ASI Mohi Din was constituted under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and SP City Mohita Sharma.
After hectic efforts and analysis of CCTV cameras footages and analysis of CDR/tower location, the team finally nabbed a notorious snatcher, who was identified as Jatinder Verma, son of Suresh Verma of Janipur Colony District Jammu.
On his disclosure, police team recovered gold ear ring also seized motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BN-1395.
With the arrest of this accused, a case registered under FIR Number 97/2021 under Section 382 IPC with Police Station Janipur was also worked out and on the disclosure of accused person, snatched gold chain and locket were also recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement on other theft/snatching cases.
