JAMMU, July 7: Satwari police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested four notorious drug peddlers and recovered 6 grams heroin, 16.5 kilograms poppy straw and three sharp edged weapons.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Satwari police station laid special nakas at different places and arrested four notorious drug peddlers along with 16.5 kilograms poppy straw, three sharp edged weapons and Rs 3 lakh cash.
The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, son of Ranjeet Singh, Iqbal Singh alias Vicky Langda, son of Ranjit Singh and Jagdeep Singh, son of Ramit Singh, all residents of Lower Gadigarh and Iqbal Singh alias Rinku, son of Mohan Singh of Govindpura Chatha.
All the arrested persons are habitual drug peddlers and were selling drugs to the youth to make them drug addicts. With the arrest of these drug peddlers, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
Cases under FIR Number 140/17, 141/17, 142/17 and 143/17 have been registered against them at Satwari police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh along with SI Arun Slathia, Incharge Chatha police post SI Sandeep Charak and Incharge Gadigarh police post SI Jaswinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
