Notorious drug peddler nabbed

UDHAMPUR, May 30: Police today arrested a notorious drug peddler during routine naka checking at Tikri, recovering a significant quantity of heroin from his possession.
According to police sources, a team from Police Post Tikri, led by In-Charge Police Post Tikri, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14C-9894, which was travelling from Jammu towards Udhampur. During the frisking of the driver, the team recovered 11.27 grams of heroin (commonly known as chitta).
The accused has been identified as Shakti Singh alias Shotu, son of Tarlok Singh, resident of House Number 78, Ward Number 17, Shankar Nagar (Sallian Talab), Udhampur. He was arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered under FIR Number 72/2025 under sections 8, 21, and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Rehambal. Further investigation is currently underway to trace the source and network linked to the accused.
