KISHTWAR, Nov 1: A notorious drug peddler has been booked under PIT NDPS Act and is lodged in District Jail Kishtwar.
As per police sources, working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, today Kishtwar Police booked notorious drug peddler of Kishtwar Town under PIT NDPSA and lodged him in District Jail Kishtwar.
However, in view of his continuous involvement in drug peddling and criminal cases and to save young generations from indulging in addiction of drugs, it was necessary to book him under the stringent law.
The accused Tousif Qayoom alias Chadda, son of Abdul Qayoom of Sarkoot District Kishtwar was found involved in various drug peddling cases, during the investigation of previous cases and leads of narcotics inputs.
After obtaining PIT NDPSA orders from higher authorities, he was today lodged in District Jail Kishtwar by the SHO Kishtwar Inspector Abid Bukhari.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt while sharing the details conveyed that Kishtwar Police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the society and to save youth from the menace of drug abuse, Kishtwar Police is working on multipronged strategy. He asked the youth to shun the path of drug abuse and must return to main stream otherwise more such harsh step will be taken against them in future.
