JAMMU, Sept 4: Continuing its war against the menace of drugs, Janipur Police arrested a notorious drug peddler along with heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and SP City Mohita Sharma laid a naka near Paloura Chowk and intercepted a Audi car, which was heading towards Bantalab.
During checking, police team recovered around 55 grams of heroin worth several lakhs from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Attar Hussain, son of Mohammad Sadiq of Ragoora Dawara District Jammu. He was a notorious drug peddler.
A case under FIR Number 99/2021 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
