UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: District Police Udhampur has booked and detained a notorious criminal under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) for his continued involvement in criminal activities.
The accused, Madan Lal son of Chuni Lal, resident of Gali Kotwalt, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, was involved in a series of criminal acts for which multiple FIRs have been registered against him.
Being a habitual offender, his repeated involvement in unlawful activities posed a serious threat to public peace, safety and tranquility, compelling the authorities to take preventive action by detaining him under the J&K Public Safety Act, order for which was issued by District Magistrate Udhampur.
The detainee has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu.
