REASI, Apr 6: Vishal Kumar alias Vicky of Katra, a notorious criminal involved in a number of illegal activities, has been booked under Public Safety Act and lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu.
This is for the second time that PSA has been slapped on Vishal Kumar, who is a known hardcore criminal, habitual offender and also a history sheeter of Police Station Katra.
The criminal activities of the said person include murder, attempt to murder, house trespass, criminal intimidation, instigation and their abetting, carrying sharp edged weapons, creating nuisance by drinking openly in public and carrying liquor for sale in holy town Katra and many more cases which could have not been reported. Because of his criminal activities, he had created a fear psychosis among general public as well as the pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
Despite his earlier detention under PSA in the year 2010, Vicky had not mended himself and continued his criminal activities. In the light of recurring commission of his Criminal Acts and for the maintenance of public order in the holy city of Katra, the detention warrant under Public Safety Act 1978 for the period of three months has been issued by District Magistrate Reasi vide Order No. 01-PSA of 2015 dated 04.04.2015.
