JAMMU, June 17: Noted poetess Prabha Raina, a distinguished intellectual known for her extensive contributions to Bhakti literature left this world yesterday.
Born in Kashmir, Prabha’s life was marked by resilience and dedication to literature work.
After migration from Kashmir, she made Jammu her home where she continued to write and inspire countless individuals.
She composed poetry in both Hindi and Kashmiri beautifully capturing the essence of devotion and spirituality.
One of her celebrated works ‘Wavlunya’ was published in both Hindi and Urdu, a few years back which received widespread acclaim.
Despite her declining health in recent years, Prabha continued to write, leaving behind a wealth of unpublished material that speaks to her unwavering passion for literature.
Prabha Raina was not only a literary icon but also a fervent advocate for women’s emancipation.
Her son, Virender Raina informed that a musical cassette featuring sublime poetry collection of her mother Prabha is currently in production so that her voice and message continue to resonate.
