Not violated any norms, ready to face any inquiry: Pankaja Munde

MUMBAI, Jun 28:

Clarifying her stand on the alleged Rs 206 crore scam, Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Pankaja Munde said she has not violated any norm, and that she will not resign from the post.

Talking to a private electronic news channel over the phone here today, Ms Munde said  the decision of sanctioning the contract for chikki and other materials for women and child development, was not her sole decision; rather it was a collective decision.

She said that she has not violated any norms laid down by the Government and is not going to resign, as her resignation would mean that she has admitted to the crime. She is ready to face any inquiry, which she has already informed the Chief Minister Devendra Fandavis, she said.

She further said  this is baseless allegation made against her by the opposition to finish her political career. The minister said the decision in regards to sanctioning the contract was taken during the Congress-NCP Government. This time, the Government had got extra funds for child development from the Central Government, which she utilised, she added. (UNI)
