Not following pandemic norms, boarding train if COVID positive could invite fine, jail term

NEW DELHI: Passengers not following protocols laid down for COVID-19, including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and travelling after being diagnosed with the disease could be booked under various sections of the Railway Act, may have to pay fines and even face imprisonment, the RPF said on Wednesday.

Detailed guidelines have been issued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for travellers specially for the upcoming festive season.

The guidelines list the various acts or omissions that passengers have to desist from while at railway premises. (AGENCIES)
