SRINAGAR: Northern Command, Army Commander Lt General D S Hooda today briefed Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about the prevailing security situation in the state.
An official spokesman said Lt General Hooda, who met Mr Vohra at Raj Bhavan here, discussed issues relating to security management in all three regions of the state.
Situation across the International Border (IB), Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Control (LaC) also came under discussion during the meeting.
This was Lt General Hooda’s first meeting with the Governor after taking over as Northern Army Commander on June 2, 2014.
The Northern Army commander also briefed the Governor about the continuing infiltration attempts from across the LoC and the Army’s planning to counter all subversive activities.
Lt General Hooda also informed Mr Vohra about the preparations underway to ensure effective security for forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, on all fronts, he said.
The spokesperson said Lt General Hooda also met Mr Omar in Srinagar and briefed him about the current security scenario in the State.
During the meeting various issues pertaining to security and law and order situation were also discussed, he added. (Agencies)
