JAMMU, Jan 20: SKUAST-Jammu Non Teaching Employees Association has demanded more faculties in the University.
While addressing a press conference, here today, the Association president P D K Uppal lamented that SKUAST-Jammu was only with two faculties whereas SKUAST-Kashmir has added six more faculties and few more are in pipeline after the bifurcation.
“This is sheer injustice with SKUAST-Jammu and ultimately causing huge resentment among the people of this region and the employees of SKUAST-Jammu in particular whose career has been stagnated and are highly over burdened due to shortage of non teaching staff owing to faulty policies adopted by the competent authorities at the helm of affairs from time to time,” he said.
Uppal appealed to the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor to give justice to this University by providing additional faculties for the welfare of the Jammu region besides taking appropriate legal action against the officers responsible for creating mess and chaos in the functioning of the University so that the SKUAST-Jammu may progress and become institute of excellence with the purpose the University was established.
He also appealed the Vice-Chancellor to redress all the pending issues of the employees with the administration without further delay to avoid resentment among the Non Teaching Fraternity.
