Non local lecturers demand repatriation from Ladakh

KARGIL, Nov 7: Non Local Plus Two Lecturers Forum, Ladakh in a meeting here, today held through virtual mode under the chairmanship of its president, Dr Krishant Kant has demanded immediate repatriation of lecturers from UT of Ladakh.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Kant said near about 65 lecturers including one Chief Education Officer are serving in Ladakh UT for last four years against a stipulated time of two years. He said that J&K Government has assured that all lecturers will be repatriated to J&K UT with apportionment which has been completed on September 30 this year.
He said meanwhile, MHA mentioned in the minutes of the meeting that repatriation of employees from Ladakh UT and apportionment are two separate issues and will be dealt separately. He said the General Administration Department (JAD) of J&K has sought substitutes for those serving in Ladakh from time to time but unfortunately no substitute has been provided by the Department.
He said in last month both the directors of Education from Jammu and Kashmir regions provided replacement of all 63 lecturers to School Education Department but the Department is not submitting the replacement to the GAD and delaying it without any reason.
The Forum has sought the personnel intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in the matter. It said the employees are working there without any Deputation Allowance and many of lecturers are facing health problems due to harsh weather conditions and their repatriation to their home districts will only end their mental agony.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by the general secretary of the Forum Basher Ahmed. Others who participated in it included Ghulam Mohammed Shah, Mohammed Ashraf Wani, Amit Kumar, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Mohammed Yousf, Anil Kumar, Ankush Sharma, Zahoor Ahmed Sheikh, Jaleel Ahmed Lone, Nazir Ahmed , Amit Kumar, Arshad Ahmed, Mohammed Ashraf Bhat , Bilal Ahmed Khandey, Tahir Rashid , Vishal Sharma, Zuiaat Ahmed Khan and Vikas Bhagat.
