JAMMU, Nov 7: Dr Varun Suthra, Director International Relations for KIIT-KISS Deemed to be Universities honoured by the Secretary General of FIFA, Fatma Samoura in an event, held at FIFA Headquarters Zurich, Switzerland.
The FIFA management appreciated Dr Suthra for his key role in the successful launch of FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) programme in India in the recent past.”The F4S would bring Football teaching more closer to the youth and children of India. F4S would also become a tool of women empowerment in India, said FIFA’s Secretary Fatma.
The felicitation was done in presence of CEO, FIFA Foundation and World Champion French Footballer, Youri Djorkaeff.
Youri said that Dr Varun has played a significant role as a young professional in connecting F4S to the ground in his country India and this would benefit millions.
It is pertinent to mention here that the FIFA Foundation has developed the F4S programme to train the students in life skills at young age by using Football as a tool in their overall growth.
The programme was successfully launched in KIIT-KISS Universities Bhubaneswar wherein the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik virtually inaugurated the event in the presence of Founder of KIIT-KISS and Member of Parliament, Dr Achyuta Samanta, while FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Swiss MP, Dr Nik Gugger had also joined the event virtually.
