JAMMU, Aug 19: A peaceful protest rally was held under the banner of Non camp Kashmiri Migrant Organization Jammu and Udhampur under the chairmanship O N Koul upto Press Club here today.
The rally appealed the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to give due consideration to 190 rented families whose names don’t figure in the allotment list published by the Relief organization recently as these families are most deserving and face many economic hardships.
The leaders of the organization said that these migrant families who are residing in rented accommodations are not in a position to bear the monthly rent as they have no source of income except meager cash relief given by Government.
The president of the organization Nana Ji Dambi said the peaceful protest will continue till the demand is met. Others who addressed the demonstration included Ashok Kumar Pandita and Kiran Pandita.
