JAMMU, Sept 27: Former MLC and chief spokesperson of JKPCC today discussed the water supply situation in Sunderbani Sub-Division with Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department and expressed concern over water crises in several areas besides lack of any water tanker in the Sub-Division.
Sharma apprised the Chief Engineer that for the first time there is no tanker available with the department in whole Sub-Division, when people are facing great hardships due to the disruptions in water supplies due to recent rains and floods.
EX-MLC expressed great concern over the laxity of the department especially Mechanical Wing to restore water supplies in Bhajwal, Sodra and Parta of Sunderbani town as several areas are facing acute water scarcity. He said that several areas in the city and Bhajwal-Sodra are facing hardships for the past several months.
Sharma asked the Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department to take immediate measures to restore and improve the water supply system in the entire area and provide a water tanker to the Sub-Division, which has been shifted to some other Sub-Division against public interest.
