No security clearance for those linked to narcotics: SSP

Srinagar, Apr 28: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure has directed field units to deny security clearances to individuals found linked to narcotics offences, citing concerns over their alleged nexus with terror handlers.
According to the directive, any involvement of applicants in drug-related activities must be clearly recorded during verification processes for passports, government jobs, contractor registrations and other antecedent checks.
Officials said such details are to be explicitly marked, and no clearance is to be granted to those associated with drug peddling or narcotics networks.
Police said the measure aims to address threats to public order and national security arising from alleged links between drug syndicates and terror elements.
