NEW DELHI : Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said there was no political pressure on the Delhi Police in the case related to alleged murder of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar.
“There is no political pressure and the murder case of Sunanda Pushkar is being worked out impartially,” Mr Singh told reporters here.
“The Delhi Police is doing free and fair investigation,” Mr Singh said.
The Home Minister’s statement came in the wake of Mr Tharoor having written to Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi, in order to get answers for all his queries related to the case. In the same letter he had hinted upon the political pressure and had requested to keep the investigation completely unbiased. Earlier this week, Mr Bassi said Mr Tharoor may be questioned soon in connection with his wife’s murder. Pushkar, 52, was found dead in a luxury hotel here on January 17, 2014. Police have said she was poisoned to death. (AGENCIES)
