Excelsior Correspondent
RAMNAGAR, July 5: During a whirlwind tour of various villages and far-flung pockets of Ramnagar and largely-attended public meeting at Dak Bungalow here, general secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), R S Pathania, has come down heavily upon the Social Welfare Department for not sanctioning any case for Financial Assistance to old-aged, widows and handicapped persons since 2008.
“It is a highest travesty of time and place as the Central Government funds these Financial Assistance schemes but authorities-that-be in State Government have not been able to process the cases and get these cases sanctioned”, he lamented.
He said that due to administrative neglect and lack of proper political leadership, the area has not been able to assert and flourish properly despite the availability of best of potential available here. In sectors of road connectivity, provision of drinking water, electricity, human and animal healthcare, development of agriculture, horticulture, floriculture and sericulture, tourism promotion, educational facilities, etc. the area is lagging far behind, he maintained.
Pathania appealed the State Government to sanction a special package for Ramnagar so as to properly develop this beautiful piece of earth as a modal area.
