No hesitation in ordering NIA probe into Kishtwar killings: Dr Jitendra

JAMMU, Nov 9: Union Minister of State in PMO with Independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh has said that the Union Home Ministry has made it clear that in case the local representatives desire the probe into the killing of senior BJP leader and party State secretary, Anil Prihar and his brother, Ajit Parihar will be handed over to National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The Minister said this while talking to a delegation of Minorities from Kishtwar led by former Minister and MLA, Kishtwar, Sunil Sharma and president, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, (SDS) Kishtwar, Hans Raj Bhutial who called him here, yesterday. The delegation comprised of other prominent leaders of minority community from the district.
The delegation demanded NIA probe into the killing of the BJP leader and his brother in Kishtwar last week.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that Union Home Ministry has given clear instructions to the State Government of conducting investigation on fast track basis in the killing of Parihar brothers and unraveling of facts about it.
The Minister informed the delegation that he himself has taken up the issue with State Government and Advisor to Governor, Vijay Kumar that immediate compensation and jobs to next kith and kin of BJP leader and his brother be given. He said the efforts are also to be made on party level to motivate the philanthropists to adopt their children.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the Home Ministry has been assured by the State Government that swift and quick action will be taken against perpetrators of terrorism and adequate security will be provided to minorities in the district.
The Minister said that he has also been conveyed by the administration that some important clues have been got about the terrorists involved in the heinous act and the police has also identified two terrorists and their informer.
However, Dr Jitendra Singh had all praise for the people of Kishtwar especially the minority community which maintained all restraint and did not allow the vested interests to repeat the game plan of 2013.
Sunil Sharma and the other members of the delegation also demanded that an Army Cantonment be stationed in Kisthwar besides the restoration of SOG groups in the district.
It also demanded that the VDCs be revived in the district to combat terrorism and foil the attempts of the enemy to put this hilly belt on fire once again.
The delegation further said that they will make a follow up visit in December to review the progress on the issues discussed by them in the meeting here with the representatives of Union Home Ministry.
