Srinagar, June 24: Government today said it has no plans to construct a fly over from BC Road to Ambphalla in Jammu until funding under new loan (Loan 3) comes.
In a written reply to a question of Sat Pal Sharma of BJP in Lower House, Minister incharge stated that Flyover from BC Road to Ambphalla was sanctioned by ERA through Asian Development Bank funding but the project could not take off as it was considered appropriate to give priority to road widening.
“However the project for widening of BC Road to 8 lane construction of flyover is being projected by ERA for funding under new loan subject to the approval of the governing body and the lending agency,” said the Minister.
“Widening of roads in Jammu city is not an approved scheme at present. However, semi ring road  in Jammu has been approved under Prime Minister’s Development Package (TAMIER) for an amount of Rs. 1400 crore, the Minister stated.
“To remove the congestion on the roads of Jammu city initiatives including construction of flyover from Bikram Chowk to Convent crossing a proposal for construction of Bypass from Raya Morh to Bantalab by National Highway Authority of India and riding surface of various roads of Jammu city have been taken,” the Minister stated.
