No compromise on corruption: PM

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made it clear in unambiguous manner that his battle against corruption will “never be compromised” and no one indulging in graft will be spared.

“Koi bhi pakada jaega toh bachega nahi (Any one caught indulging in corruption will not be spared),” Mr Modi told the BJP National Executive meet here and said, “I have no relatives”.

Lashing out at opposition parties, he said, for long they had practiced the politics of “upbhog (enjoyment)” and therefore now that they are in opposition, “they do not know how to conduct themselves as opposition leaders”, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters quoting Prime Minister. Referring to instances wherein opposition leaders have often used strong words against the Government and the Prime Minister himself, Mr Modi said, “mere harsh words cannot be substitute for any substantial charge against the Government”.
