NMC holds rally, highlights demands

JAMMU, Dec 30: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) activists held a protest rally regarding their long pending demands.
The protestors led by NMC president Subash Shastri raised slogans and urged upon the Union Finance Minister to make announcement of the Chairman and other members of the 7th Pay Commission before presentation of the Union Budget in the Parliament.
While speaking Subash Shastri said that the provision with regard to 20 percent interim relief to the Central and State Government employees and pensioners should be made simultaneously in budget. He said that the UPA Government should take immediate decision on the merger of 50 percent DA in the basic pay and pension.
Shastri announced that 12 member delegation of NMC leaders will leave for Union Capital on January 27 and meet the Prime Minister, Union Finance Minister, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy and UPA Chairperson and will take up the issues of the salaried class including comprehensive pay policy and setting up of 7th Pay Commission.
He also demanded release of wages of motivators working in the IWDP project Akhnoor besides their regularization, enhancement in the wages of the daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month, issuance of regularization orders of the daily wagers working in RDD, increase in the medical allowances from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month and regularization of the daily wagers engaged in various Government Departments.
Among others who spoke were Rajan Babu Khajuira, Rakesh Padha, Anil Singh Slathia, Sham Lal Sharma, Barkat Ram, Sukhdev Singh, Sunil Kochhar and Bhupinder Singh.
