JAMMU, Feb 10: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today pitched for implementation of Ashok Lavasa Committee recommendations regarding 7th Pay Commission during a workers meeting in village Chohala, RS Pura here.
“Ashok Lavasa Committee framed prior to implement 7th Pay Commission by the Union Government for removal of pay anomalies in which, he (Lavasa) had proposed a minimum scale/ pension of lower class cadre and pensioners from Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,000,” said NMC president Subash Shastri.
Shastri while urging the Prime Minister and Finance Minister of India to release soon the pending instalment of four percent Dearness Allowance (DA) in favour of both Central and UTs employees and pensioners, due from January 1, 2020.
He urged them to take decision (release of DA) in the forthcoming Union cabinet meeting so that salaried class and pensioners would get sigh of relief from the rising prices and inflation.
Pleading the cause of several thousands of daily rated workers working in various departments of the UT, Shastri also appealed to Lieutenant Governor administration to ensure timely disbursement of long pending wages of the daily rated workers.
Appreciating the policies of UT Governor, GC Murmu, he urged him to issue necessary order for the enhancing of the rate of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 per month of J&K pensioners at par Central Government pensioners.
