NMC for early implementation of ALC recommendation

JAMMU, June 1: Expressing concern over the undue delay in implementing the recommendation of Ashok Lavasa Committee (ALC) set up of by the Central Government to review the structure of pay anomalies pertaining to lower staff, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Prime Minister to intervene personally to settle the issue on priority basis.
“It is worth mentioning that this chunk of class would comprising a sizable of quantum voter population in the ensuring 2019 Lok Sabha election”, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, said this while addressing a well attended workers’ meet here.
The NMC leader said that the Ashok Lavasa recommendation would yield a benefit to Rs 3000 per month to each employe after implementation of the committee report, which stands submitted over nine month now. As per recommendation, the salary of the lower staff has been enhanced from Rs 18000 to Rs 21000 per month. Shastri hoped that issue will be settled once for all.
Calling for documents time and again from the poor working class of daily rated workers has irritated them because the production of record has not yet met any conclusion for their regularization, he added. Beside they have not been paid salary on regular basis, the arrears this runs from 1 to 3 years.
Shastri suggested a mechanism to determine the eligibility of such workers to present initial enrolment in the master sheet and a similar document after ten years of service to arrive at length of service of such workers. “I hope the suggestion is taken note”. Shastri said.
Several resolution were adopted in the meeting which included release of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government, early amendment in SRO 520 and regularization of the services of left over daily rated workers fall under SRO 64 etc.
