JAMMU, Feb 20: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today appealed to the State Governor to release pending instalment of 3% DA in favor of State Government employees and pensioners as the same has been approved by the Union Cabinet to its employees and pensioners.
The Jammu & Kashmir was the first State of the country under Governor’s administration to release previous instalment of DA due from July last year after it had been released by the Central Government to its employees and pensioners, Shastri said while addressing a meeting of NMC activists here.
He said that State Government has already made a provision for allocation of funds for DA instalments, so it is requested to release the same in favor of its employees and pensioners at the earliest, so that salaried class/pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation. Shastri said that this becomes necessary as Central Government has already released this instalment. He said this would ultimately pile-up the arrears thus adding extra burden on State Government.
