NMC demands release of 10% DA installment

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 15: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today demanded release of 10% DA due from January last in favour of State Government employees and pensioners in cash.
Alleging that DA is the part of salary and routine financial matter, he said there should be no hitch in releasing it, as the salaried class and pensioners are facing lot of economic hardship due to high inflation and price hike.
Addressing a meeting of NMC activists here, Shastri said that the delay in release of DA would not only put financial burden on the State Government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners.
Referring to the genuine demands of salaried class, Shastri also demanded for immediate sanction of 20% interim relief and merger of 50% DA into basic pay/pension.
Enhancement in medical allowance, regularization of the services of all daily wagers who have completed seven years of services up to January 31, 2014, early amendment in SRO 64, release of 3rd instalment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, etc, were other demands highlighted in the meeting.
