JAMMU, Aug 28: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri has demanded the regularization of 61,000 daily rated workers working in various departments under SRO-520.
Addressing NMC workers in a meeting here today Shastri said that these daily rated workers are being paid their salaries after the lapse of six months to one year and expressed hope that the new Governor will resolve this issue soon.
He also demanded that seventh pay commission arrears should be paid in a single instalment to the pensioners.
He further demanded the release of pending instalment of DA due from July last, enhancing the wages of daily wager workers to Rs. 500 per day, releasing of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in Irrigation and Flood Control Department, PHE, PDD, PWD in one go besides enhancing the medical allowance to Rs.1000 per month.
Among others who were also present in the meeting were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Jaipal Sharma, Swarn Bhagat, Vijay Bhagat, Pawan Kumar, Shail Singh, Bupinder Singh, Tilak Raj and Girdhari Lal.
