SRINAGAR, May 3: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) general secretary Nizam-ud-Din Bhat has cautioned against the designs of divisive elements trying to destabilize the situation in the State.
He particularly accused Congress party of trying to foment trouble and trying to communalise situation by misleading public at national as well as local level.
At a party convention in Bandipora Bhat referred to statements of Congress leaders on NIT and said that this offers clear evidence that how Congress is trying to give communal colour to NIT incident without regard for safety of Kashmiri students in academic institutions outside the State.
Bhat accused Congress of helping divisive elements to sabotage situation in the State as they are sulking under electoral defeat.
He said that the hoax of Congress secularism is exposed as they try to interpret incidents in educational institutions as anti-national and communal in a way to draw political mileage.
He said that PDP is committed to maintaining peace in educational institutions, regional harmony and mutual amity and brotherhood and will always discourage the elements of sabotage and disruption.
Addressing the convention, district president Srinagar and MLC Mohammad Khursheed Alam said that PDP is committed to implement the vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of ushering Jammu and Kashmir into an era of peace, stability and development.
Noor Mohammad Sheikh, MLA Batamaloo, Yasir Reshi MLC & district president Bandipora and Fakir Mohammad Khan also addressed the gathering.
Demanding focused development of the Bandipora constituency, Nizam-ud-din Bhat said that Bandipora-Srinagar road should be completed on priority and focus should be given for early completion of Grid Station at Putushay. He demanded that the hospital building should be completed to mitigate the suffering of the people of Bandipora.
Bhat demanded release of funds under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) which is already under recommendation.
