Nitish thanks Modi, Sonia, Mamata for congratulating him

NEW DELHI, Nov 8:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi after they called to congratulate him on putting the JD(U)-led grand alliance on the road to victory in the assembly polls.

            “Just received a phone call from the Prime Minister congratulating me..@narendramodi thank you Modiji,” he said in a series of tweets.

            Putting up a stunning show, the JD(U)-led grand alliance was today well on the road to gaining a thumping majority in the Bihar assembly after inflicting a crushing defeat on the BJP-led NDA.

            He also thanked Sonia and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

            “Thank you Sonia Ji for your congratulatory phone call,” he said.

            “@MamataOfficial thank you Mamata Ji,” he said in another tweet.

            Both the leaders had called Nitish Kumar to congratulate him on the victory.

            According to trends available for 220 seats, the grand alliance is ahead in 142 of the 243 seats, 20 more than required for a simple majority. (PTI)
