JAMMU, Nov 8: The dead body of an unidentified man was recovered this morning from a canal near outgate of Railway Station Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, some passers by this morning informed Trikuta Nagar police that a male body is lying in the canal. On getting information, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for identification.
The deceased man was later identified as Manzoor Hussain (45) son of Misr Ali, a resident of Ramnagar in Udhampur district.
A case in this regard has been registered at police station Trikuta Nagar and proceedings started under 174 CrPC.
