Nirwan Diwas of Swami Ramji observed with fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Feb 3: A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged Shree Ram Shaiv Trika Ashram, Gole Gujral to pay obeisance to Parmisht Guru Trikacharya Swami Ramji Mahraj. The Nirvan Diwas of this famous and greatest Scholar Saint in Shaiva philosopher of Kashmir was observed today at his Ashram with full religious fervor and gaiety.
Swami Ji was born on 1854 at Habbkadal, Srinagar to Pt Sukhdev and his spiritual Guru and Shiva philosophy teacher was Swami Manhkak Mongha, who was also a renowned Shaivacharya of his time. Swami Ramji Mahraj had a vast multitude of admirers and devotees, who would throng his Ashram for solace, bliss and spiritual retreat from all corners of Kashmir.
The then ruler of the State Maharaja, Partap Singh was also one of his ardent devotee and would come to his Ashram to pay obeisance to Swamiji Mahraj. Swami Ramji was also the Vidhya and Deeksha Guru of Swami Laxman Ji, who is globally known and recognised Saint and Shaiva Philosopher. Swamiji Ramji Mahraj attained Nirvana and Mahasamadhi to be one with the supreme reality on Magh Shukla Paksh Chaturdashi in 1915 at his established Swami Ram Shaiv Trika Ashram, Fateh Kadal, Srinagar.
Swami Ramji Maharaj has rendered voluminous services in the revival of Kashmir Shaivism by propagating and teaching the Shaivite philosophy and Shaivite scriptures to his devotees. The Shaivite Ashram established by Swami Ramji Maharaj himself at Fatehkadal Srinagar in May 1884 is the oldest celebrated Shaiva philosophy teaching centre of Kashmir in contemporary times.
