The members present from all the Industrial Associations of Jammu province and Chairman FCIK from Kashmir in the meeting raised serious concern over the repeated attempts of some vested interests, who are bent upon to destroy the Industrial sector of J&K by raising their voice for the removal of Toll Tax at Lakhanpur with their ill designs to allow the import/export of unaccounted goods in/from the State which may be resulting huge Financial loss to the State exchequers as well as to the Industrial Sector of J&K.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that Toll Tax at Lakhanpur is a safeguard for the Industrial sector of the State to check the import/export of unaccounted goods, contraband and other banned items to and from the State and if the Govt withdraws the Toll Tax at Lakhanpur Checkpost, the whole State shall be flooded with the unaccounted goods and other related material which will prove as death nail for the Industrial Sector of the State & the worst suffers will be the Industrial sector of the State moreover, state will lose about Rs 900 crore revenue.
It was strongly resolved in the meeting that Govt should not remove Toll Tax Checkpost at Lakhanpur with the Toll exemptions should be continued in GST regime to the existing as well as new Industrial units to compensate the additional transportation cost on the raw materials and finished goods. The meeting further resolved that the Industrial sector of J&K is not the part of any organization who gave Jammu bandh call on this issue.
