JAMMU, Feb 27: The Nirvan Diwas of Swami Jeevan Sahib a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir was observed with full religious fervour and gaiety today.
In this connection a Maha Yagya was performed at Anuradha Puram Barnai by Swami Jeevan Sahib Mandir Prabandhak Trust and Hindu Welfare Biradri Ladhoo.
On the occasion pooja archana was also performed at the holy shrine of Swami Ji at village Ladhoo Pampore in Pulwama district of South Kashmir by the devotees. The function was organised by the president of the Trust Bansi Lal.
A large number of devotees drawn form different parts of Jammu attended the Maha Yagya at Anuradhapuram and paid their obeisance to spiritual saint.
On the occasion Pandit Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust was felicitated for launching a movement for the protection of religious places and shrines in Kashmir. The Award was received by Dr A N Pandita chairman of the Trust which was presented to him by president of Hindu Welfare Association Ladhoo, Dwarika Nath Safaya and Swami Radhay Dass Ji.
Speaking on the occasion Ravi Ji Bhat general secretary of the Trust said the community should take up the issue of protection of religious places in Valley vigorously with Government so that these monuments are preserved for posterity. He welcomed the struggle launched by various organizations like APMCC, RIK J&K in this regard.
On the occasion Swami Ji gave religious discourses. The programme was conducted by Parveen Koul while welcome address was given by Makhan Lal Bhat, general secretary of the Association. The function was coordinated by Vinod Bhat and Sandesh Bhat.
The night long Bhajan -Kirtan was also held and after the Puranahuti the devotees were served with prashad.
